Not every shipping container is suitable for conversion into living space. Before buying, check the container’s condition (rust, structural damage, floor condition), whether it’s a ‘one-trip’ container (lightly used, better condition) versus a well-traveled cargo container, and whether the size and door configuration fit your building plan.
It’s also worth confirming delivery logistics and site access before you buy — a container that can’t reach your site is a container you can’t use.
